Details
The 2016 Château Lyonnat is widely considered a benchmark vintage for this estate. Located in Lussac-Saint-Émilion, one of the “satellite” appellations of St. Émilion, this property benefits from the same limestone-clay plateau as its more famous neighbors, offering exceptional value and classical structure.
Tasting Note: Deep garnet with cassis and red fruit character and a hint of sweet spice on the nose; powerful, yet supple with vanilla aromas on the finish.
Appellation: Lussac-Saint-Émilion AOC, Bordeaux, France
Vintage: 2016
Style: Red
Grapes: Merlot
Vinification: The grapes undergo traditional fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats. To ensure a sophisticated wood influence, the wine is aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak barrels, of which roughly 25% are new each year. This softens the tannins and adds a subtle spice profile without masking the terroir.
Alcohol: 14%
Farming: Sustainable (HVE Certified – High Environmental Value)
Allergens: Sulphites
Pairing suggestion: Steak, lamb, or venison. Truffle pastas & hard cheeses like Mimolette or Comté.
