Aimery Grand Cuvée 1531 Blanquette De Limoux
Tasting Note: Bright pale yellow in the glass, this sparkling wine from southern France delights with a delicate and fresh bouquet of pear and bright flowers. It’s also fresh on the palate, with fine citrus notes and hints of herbs like thyme and lavender. Velvety and elegant, with delicate yeast notes in the long finish. Fine and persistent bubbles.
Appelation: Blanquette de Limoux
Region: Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Vintage: Non-vintage
Style: Sparkling
Grapes: Mauzac, Chenin Blanc
Vinification: Although located far south, the coolest sites of the Languedoc, with their dual maritime influences of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, are also ideal for sparkling wine production. Indeed, the oldest records of sparkling wines come from the Limoux region – from a time when, in Champagne, the then-unpredictable occurrence of excess pressure in bottles was considered a nuisance and a wine defect. The first mention dates back to the eponymous year of 1531.for 12 months.
Alcohol: 12.5%
Farming: Conventional
Pairing suggestion: The Grande Cuvée 1531 is an excellent aperitif. It also goes well with hors d’oeuvres or desserts, such as créme brûlée.
