Details
A vibrant and “crunchy” Southern Rhône red with a distinct Irish soul. Founded by Irish winemakers Simon Tyrrell and Gerard Maguire alongside Frenchman Charles Derain, this cuvée is designed for “pure glou-glou” (easy drinking). It offers a bright, floral nose of wild strawberries, redcurrants, and a hint of white pepper, leading to a silky, medium-bodied palate with an energetic, mineral finish.
Region: Côtes du Rhône (Gard), France.
Vintage: 2023.
Style: Light-to-medium-bodied, fruit-forward Red Wine.
Grapes: A Grenache-led blend (typically 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Cinsault)
Fermentation: Hand-harvested grapes are partially destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel and cement tanks. Fermentation temperatures are kept low (approx. 25°C) to emphasise primary red fruit over heavy extraction.
Filtration: Aged for 6–8 months in concrete or stainless steel tanks to keep the fruit profile “unmasked” by oak. The wine undergoes minimal fining and a very light filtration to preserve its natural vitality.
Alcohol: 13.5% – 14%.
Farming: Certified Organic. The vines (aged 30–70 years) are grown on high-altitude sandy and limestone-rich soils in the northern part of the Gard, which helps keep the wine fresh despite the Mediterranean heat.
Allergens: Contains sulphites.
Pairing Suggestion: Incredibly versatile; try it with grilled lamb chops, a selection of hard cheeses and salami, or even a spicy tomato-based pasta. It is also excellent served slightly chilled.
