Fallon & Byrne is proud to announce that, as the exclusive importer for Marques de Tomares in Ireland, we will have a limited number of their special edition Cohiba Atmosphere Reserva Rioja and Gran Reserva Rioja. These beautiful bottles are collectors’ items in themselves, and the wine inside is equally extraordinary.

Marques de Tomares are based in the prestigious Rioja Alta region and these exceptional cuvées come from their top vineyards in the area. This is the second edition of their Cohiba partnership and the first to be sold in Ireland. The collaboration comes from a wish to celebrate the affinities in these two rarefied worlds. Both the wine and the cigar start with the highest quality raw ingredients and involve a double fermentation, expert care in production and a deep respect for the time it takes for each one to reach their full potential. As such, the 2014 Reserva Rioja and 2012 Gran Reserva Rioja are only now being released for sale.

The Reserva Rioja 2014 is aged for 18 months in new French oak before bottling and on top of the required 18 months, has spent another 5 years in bottle.

The Gran Reserva Rioja 2012 is aged for 30 months in new French Oak and in addition to the required 2 years in bottle, has had a further 5 years maturation prior to release.

The extra aging means that while the wines will happily continue to age in cellar for many years to come, they are both approachable and drinking beautifully right now.
